Let's Get Started

To reduce the risk of injury user must read instruction manuals for all tools used in this project. Wear eye and respiratory protection. Use clamps to support work piece whenever practical.

STEP 1

Step 1

Paint your sheet of plywood with chalkboard paint (both sides optional). Do at least two coats.

STEP 2

Step 2

Measure and mark strips with chalk (I chose to mark strips at 3 in).

STEP 3

Step 3

Clamp the painted sheet to a table, then clamp a 1" board along your first mark. Use your Dremel Saw-Max (with the flush cut wheel) to cut your first strip. Repeat.

STEP 4

Step 4

Stack painted strips and measure/mark how wide you want your tags to be (I chose 5.5 in). Making sure all edges are aligned, clamp the Dremel Miter Guide to your stack and the worktable. Make your cut, repeat.

STEP 5

Step 5

Drill holes in upper corners. If you choose to stack tags when drilling, be sure to align the edges carefully and clamp the tags to the table to avoid slipping (I usually don't stack and drill more than 3 or 4 tags at a time).

STEP 6

Step 6

Sand the edges of your tags with the Dremel Multi-Max.

STEP 7

Step 7

Now grab your tags, some jute twine, and run... (Because your neighbors are gonna want 'em!)
